Collective Hope Community Services, in partnership with the Town of Bassendean, hosted a NAIDOC Week event on Thursday, 6 July, 2023 at the Bassendean Community Hall.
This event officially launched our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and revealed the artwork commissioned for the organisation.
“We are thrilled to be able to work with the Town of Bassendean and the local Aboriginal community to put this event together. Implementing our RAP has opened so many doors and forged new relationships between our organisation and organisations like Ebenezer Aboriginal Corporation, Marr Mooditj Training Centre, Maalitj Foundation, as well as individuals like Mechelle Turvey (mother of Cassius) and local Elder, Dot Bagsmar and family (Sherri and Joshua). We are excited to have an active RAP and look forward to future partnerships with our First Nations Peoples,” says Hayley Solich, event coordinator.
Guest speakers/artists/performers included:
– Welcome to Country – Dot Bagsmar
